The Senior IT Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical support, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. The role involves troubleshooting complex issues, leading IT projects, and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring compliance with security and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced support for desktops, laptops, servers, and network devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Monitor and manage network performance, security, and backups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues efficiently.
- Support cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace).
- Maintain CCTV, access control, and security systems where required.
Document processes, incidents, and solutions. - Train and mentor junior IT staff.
- Assist in IT projects, upgrades, and system implementations.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science (advantageous).
- CompTIA A+, N+ (required), Security+ or Microsoft/Cisco certifications (advantageous).
- 5 – 7 + years’ hands-on IT support experience.
- Strong knowledge of networking, Windows/Linux environments, and cloud platforms.
